More Melville

A couple of weeks ago I started Sally Melville’s “Where’s the Opaque? Sweater” with Cascade 220 and 220 Superwash. I knit and knit, through two movies, and a lot of TV. This weekend I started the sheer part of the sweater and I finally decided it was just not working out. Here is what’s left:

1 skein of Cascade 220 superwash, in garter stitch. I hate to frog it all, but I don’t know what else to do with it. I wish I had paid more attention in geometry class!

And since I wanted to make a project from Sally Melville’s “The Knitting Experience Book 1″ (even though I realized later that I had already made her Knit Flat Hat and Mitts a few years ago for my mom) before potentially selling it, I chose to start her Knit-Round Scarf. Here is how far I’ve gotten:

In the model in the book, she uses Noro Silk Garden, so it’s pretty stripey. I think my Fibonacci sequence between the 220 and 220 Superwash (one darker red than the other) will make it somewhat stripey too. I wonder if I’ll actually wear it?

I also won the lottery recently! No, I’m not rich, but Sarah wanted to trade for some of my stash yarn, and when I mentioned that I liked her handdyed yarn, she offered to dye some just for me! It came out more gorgeous than I expected. Now to figure out what to do with it:

Stash accounted for (minus stash knit up and previously accounted for): 139 skeins.

    Pretty yarn in that swap!

Bummer about the Opaque frogging but better now than later. I’ll have to pull my copy and check out that Knit-Round scarf.

Pretty yarn! Is it sock yarn or hat/scarf yarn?

Frogging sucks. But sometimes, we just have to bite the bullet. And some projects are cursed. Don’t ask about the baby blanket…
