Halfway to Gold! Boy, am I lame. I finally finished my first Jaywalker sock that I pledged to finish during the Olympics. I knew I shouldn’t have signed up. Well, at least I made it a challenge, and I did learn a new technique: knitting socks on two circs. I think I really like this technique and I’m much more comfortable with it than I was when I was making the Straight Laced socks from Knitty.

I do plan on finishing and I hope soon so I can start my Sockapaloooza socks! Here’s sock #1 and the beginning of sock #2:

I had a very drama-filled (again!) day at my sons’ school and also apparently signed myself (and a friend, actually) up to start a Knitting Club for the kids! That should be interesting. I started to brainstorm with DL about what boys might like to knit: hats, scarves, maybe the Jess Hutchinson toys?

Nice job on the socks so far! How many pattern repeats are you doing? I like them shorter…or are they?? :) Z

Thanks! I’m not sure how many repeats I did, but I did 1 inch of ribbing and about 2 inches of pattern before starting the heel. I prefer shorter socks, but they still seem to be taking forever!
