Okay, I’m at a crossroads. I was just about to pick up IM’s blanket (believe it or not) but I’m not sure if it’s worth finishing. I pretty much hate the pattern. Here is the most recent progress photo:

So what do you think? Finish? I have about 1 skein of Micro Spun to go. Or frog and just make one of those square blankets with an eyelet border? Or not? I had wanted a red blanket, but the outfits I wanted to match don’t fit him anymore!

Another potential option — I’m leaning towards this — I’m casting off, and it will be a nice handmade gift for Baby Chen who is due in December (January?)

looks like you solved your own problem right there. no pain caused by frogging, no pain caused by continuing knitting, just happy people who are getting a new blanky for their new baby.

(i’m kind of in the same situation, I’m not enjoying the current blanket I’m working on, so i’ve put it down for a bit. but i should pick it up again. i don’t have any other options and i have done too much to frog)

Do NOT frog it, it will never get made. I say bind off now and call it done. Maybe make IM a blankie with a bunch of squares with different stitch patterns that won’t be so daunting?

The problem is that it’s a weird size and shape now — kind of small but wide. I’m binding off anyway. At the very least I have no idea why I was using my Denise system, it is way too sticky for that and no fun to knit!

you can always crochet some edging to change the shape.

Great minds think alike! I was going to crochet an edging but now that it’s done I actually like the size. It randomly turned out perfectly for a newborn, and perfect for Baby Chen!
