I am going to scream. I have been working on my Soleil for over a week, lugging the damn cone of yarn around, and damned if I don’t think that I twisted the yarn when I was joining it into a round **again**!!!! I know I checked it when I first recast on and it didn’t seem to have a problem but now all of a sudden it is twisted! Is it possible that it twisted while I was knitting?! No obnoxious comments, please, I’m pissed off enough.

Not to mention that every time I look at someone else’s blog they are finished with one or more projects every day. I can’t even finish a project in a week!

Wait, wait, don’t rip it! I have the EZ book “Knitting w/out Tears” and in there she says you knit to where you twisted the work, drop 1 stitch straight down to where the join/twist is. When you get all the way down there, untwist your work. Then just pick the stitches up the entire ladder and put the final stitch back on your needles. You’ll have a wierd little twist at the very bottom, where the yarn is still joined, but it probably won’t be noticeable (if it is, just deal with it when the work if finished).

I did this exact thing on a baby sweater that I’d alrady knit more than 1/2 of and it worked *great*. Give it a try and see if it works (better than frogging the first time!)

I already did :( and I have that book, too! I guess I should have read it.

Thanks so much for the suggestion, though, maybe next time I won’t have to use it!

I can’t finish a project in a week. It took me two months to do the Charlotte’s Web Shawl. Most projects take at least a month.

Well, in their defense, they may have taken the whole weekend to finish something ;)
I’ve restarted Soleil again and hope to not twist it this time!

Well, I didn’t knit much at all this weekend. On the bright side, you have the lace pattern down. Before starting again, why don’t you wind a ball off the cone so you don’t have to lug it around. Sure you will have to weave in some ends, but its better than breaking your back!

I’m sorry your project is giving you so much grief. But it all goes in waves. Soon you’ll get out of the slump and you’ll be finishing 10 things in 1 day. :)

Thanks! I can’t believe I cast on for the 3rd time! I guess I really like this project. I just hate that I’ve wasted 2 weeks and I could have been done with my Silk Corset by now (we won’t even get into how people are finishing that project in two weeks!)
